Ceco was founded in 1947 as Mitchell Engineering by C.L. Mitchell and manufactured many of its own components in addition to assembling and erecting standard buildings. The company evolved from a small Quonset dealership to a manufacturing enterprise. Mitchell was the inspiration behind Ceco Building Systems. From simple projects to highly customized and architecturally focused buildings, the spirit of innovation continues to run through the fabric of Ceco to this day.

Ceco’s visionary approach led the industry with uniform pricing, development of the standing seam roof, in-house construction services and the use of computer aided design and estimating. Ceco’s product and services offering includes furnish and erect services, framing systems, and panels systems including: metal roof panels, metal wall panels, and insulated metal panels.

In 2006, Ceco became part of NCI Building Systems of Houston, Texas, making Ceco a member of the largest metal building and metal components manufacturers in the nation.

Ceco Building Systems has been a member of the Metal Building Manufacturers Association since 1957 and also has membership in the American Institute of Steel Construction, Factory Mutual, Underwriters Laboratories, and the Southern Building Code Congress International.
